RANGERS MANAGER PEDRO Caixinha has apologised to fans of the club after they crashed out of the Europa League in the first qualifying round last night at the hands of Luxembourg’s Progres Niederkorn.
It was a first ever European win for Progres Niederkorn — who finished 21 points off the top of Luxembourg’s National Division — and Caixinha was keen to take full blame for the result.
“We need to apologise to our fans because they gave us support and loyalty, they don’t deserve this,” Caixinha told Rangers TV.

“I believe in this process, I believe in these players and I believe in the work that we are going to do.
“I think it is a strong lesson we need to learn from now on, and we need to focus on the positive side that is coming regarding to the future.”
Rangers hit the woodwork three times in the defeat at the Stade Josy Barthel as Emmanuel Francoise and Sebastian Thill secured the win for the home side who had not won any of their previous 13 games in European competition, scoring only one goal in the process.
